Parking sensors and radar units are mounted in precise positions within the bumper assembly. Even a minor shift in their position can lead to false readings, system errors, or complete failure. This displacement often produces no visible sign from outside the vehicle.

Bumper Bracket & Isolator Damage:

The brackets that connect the bumper system to the frame rails are precisely engineered mounting points. Bent or broken brackets change the sensor alignment, fit, and crash performance.

Reinforcement Bar Damage:

The steel or aluminum beam behind the absorber distributes impact force to the frame. A moderate-speed collision, even if it looks repairable, can bend or crack the reinforcement bar. A bent bar offers reduced protection in a subsequent impact.

Energy Absorber Compression:

The foam energy absorber sits directly behind the bumper cover. It’s crushed under impact; once it’s done its job, it needs to be replaced. A compressed absorber is often invisible. From the inside, it’s clearly compromised.

Apply slow and steady pressure to the problem area:

Heritage PDR technicians use special tools that gradually apply pressure to a dent so the material returns to its original shape. The process is quick, non-invasive, and environmentally friendly.
