Hyundai Certified Collision repair

Hyundai Certified Collision Repair
Ann Arbor and Canton, MI

Hyundai Builds for a 10 Year Warranty.
We Repair to Protect It.

Hyundai Trained, Not Kia Assumed

Hyundai and Kia share engineering under Hyundai Motor Group, they do not share a repair procedure. Our technicians are trained specifically on Hyundai’s own sectioning points and safety hardware, not treated as an extension of a Kia repair.

Seamless Insurance Coordination

As a direct repair facility for major insurance companies, we manage your Hyundai claim from first estimate to final delivery, so you are not negotiating parts and procedure with an adjuster yourself.

Two Certified Locations, One Standard

Hyundai Certified Collision Repair is available at both our Ann Arbor and Canton locations, so you get the same audited standard no matter which side of Washtenaw County you are closer to.

Trusted across Ann Arbor and Canton, 1,700+ reviews in Ann Arbor and nearly 2,000 in Canton, both locations rated 4.6 or higher on Google.

Heritage Collision is Your Hyundai Certified Collision Repair Shop in Ann Arbor and Canton

Heritage Collision is Verified by Hyundai’s Certification Program

It runs through a third-party verification partner and inspects and re-verifies that participating shops comply with standards at both locations.

Our auto body technicians complete Hyundai specific training.

Our equipment is inspected against Hyundai’s tool and facility requirements.

Our repair procedures are pulled directly from Hyundai’s official repair documentation for your exact model and year.

When you come to Heritage Collision, you are getting technicians of the highest standards of collision repair who know the difference between a Tucson repair and a Santa Fe repair, not a generalized approximation of both.

Benefits of Choosing Heritage Collision Hyundai Certified Body Shops

hyundai-certified-collision-repair-logo

Heritage Collision is backed by experience.

Our Hyundai certified technicians are dedicated to restoring your vehicle to its pre-accident condition.

What Hyundai Certification Requires:

Heritage Collision goes through Hyundai’s third-party verified training and has access to Hyundai’s official repair procedures by model and year.

Hyundai-specified diagnostic and structural equipment, and repeated inspection of the body shop to keep the certification active.

They also inspect our Heritage Collision body shops from a customer’s perspective to ensure they are up to date and clean, while keeping customers happy with their service.

How Heritage Collision Safeguards Your Hyundai:

Models like Tucson, Santa Fe, and Elantra use Advanced High Strength Steel in specific structural zones to manage crash energy.

Cutting or welding in the wrong location, common at shops working from general industry knowledge instead of Hyundai’s own documentation, can quietly change how that structure performs in a future impact.

Heritage Collision protects both your safety and your warranty.

Hyundai backs many models with one of the strongest powertrain warranties in the industry.

A structural repair performed outside the Hyundai manufacturer’s procedure can create real exposure to that warranty coverage, something most owners never think to ask about until it is too late.

At Heritage Collision, you get more than just a body shop; you get auto body technicians with factory engineering expertise. We repair your vehicle to the manufacturer’s recommended tolerances.

WHY DO HYUNDAI OWNERS CHOOSE HERITAGE COLLISION?

Because a repair that looks fine and a repair that meets Hyundai’s actual specification are not always the same repair. That gap is exactly what this certification closes.

Manufacturer Trained Hyundai Certified Collision Repair

What Manufacturer Trained Means:

Heritage Collision auto body technicians complete Hyundai specific coursework on current model construction and repair procedures, updated as Hyundai’s lineup shifts further toward electrified platforms, and applied consistently at both our Ann Arbor and Canton locations.

  • Hyundai-Trained Technicians – Our technicians receive Hyundai specific training, ensuring your vehicle is repaired with factory-approved methods.
  • Genuine Hyundai Parts – OEM parts to maintain your vehicle’s factory integrity whenever possible.
  • Advanced Equipment & Tools – State-of-the-art diagnostic and repair equipment to meet Hyundai’s strict repair standards.
  • Lifetime Warranty – All Hyundai-certified repairs come with a limited lifetime warranty, giving lasting confidence in our work.

Only our factory trained technicians will work on your vehicle. They have access to a specialized diagnostic system designed specifically for Hyundai vehicles and aligned with the manufacturer’s instructions. Proper repairs that preserve your car’s life and keep it covered under warranty.

A Few Examples:

AHSS Sectioning is a Requirement, Not a Suggestion

Hyundai’s Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) is placed in targeted zones to manage crash energy in a specific, engineered path. That path only holds up if the sectioning and welding happen exactly where Hyundai’s documentation says they should.

A repair a few inches off from the correct location does not look wrong. It performs wrong, and only in the moment it is tested.

Both Heritage Collision locations have repaired advanced vehicles for many years and are experts in different steel and aluminum body repairs.

What This Requires From a Certified Hyundai Repair
  • Structural repair to Hyundai’s documented sectioning and welding locations, not a generalized industry approximation.
  • Genuine Hyundai OE parts, for correct fit, mounting points, and sensor bracket position for SmartSense hardware.
  • Michigan specific corrosion protection at every repair seam, since road salt and freeze thaw cycling are especially hard on exposed AHSS.

Michigan specific note: winter road salt accelerates rust through at any repair seam that is not properly sealed. We apply Hyundai specified corrosion protection as a standard procedure, not an upgrade you have to ask for.

HYUNDAI PANTLESS DENT REPAIR

A parking lot ding near downtown Ann Arbor, a dent shopping in Canton, or a hailstorm does not have to mean a repaint.

Heritage Collision will correct it using our PDR technique while preserving your factory finish.

HYUNDAI STRUCTURAL AND EV SAFE REPAIR

The Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6 run on Hyundai’s E-GMP platform, a dedicated electric architecture built for battery electric vehicles rather than adapted from a gas platform. The battery is modular and serviceable by design, which is a real advantage during repair.

But only if the technician is trained in the correct high-voltage safety procedure before opening anything near it. Heritage Collision techs are.

HYUNDAI PAINT REPAIR

Our paint refinishing technicians use computerized color matching to bring your Hyundai’s paint finish back to factory accuracy.

Whether it is an Elantra that has seen a few Michigan winters or a new Palisade, Heritage Collision paint techs will get it right.

Every Hyundai comes equipped with the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) called SmartSense, which actively helps keep you protected on the road. Feel safer knowing that Heritage Collision recalibrates those features to work as they should after any impact or accident.

Did you know Hyundai SmartSense ADAS requires recalibration after any impact?

Hyundai SmartSense is not a single system across all trims, and recalibration only works if the technician knows which version your vehicle actually has.

This is the detail most local shops skip entirely. Highway Driving Assist and Highway Driving Assist 2 are not the same system. HDA2 adds automatic lane change assistance and expanded surrounding vehicle awareness, and on many models, it is only available on the highest trim, such as Calligraphy. A shop that recalibrates a HDA2 equipped Santa Fe using a generic HDA procedure can leave the system technically reset but not fully restored.

Before recalibrating your Hyundai’s driver assistance systems, we identify:

  • Which SmartSense configuration your specific trim and model year actually carries.
  • Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, camera and radar based automatic braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
  • Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, radar detection with corrective steering.
  • Lane Following Assist, centering your vehicle in lane on I-94 and US-23 commutes.
  • Smart Cruise Control, adaptive following distance for Michigan’s frequent stop and go winter traffic.
  • Highway Driving Assist or Highway Driving Assist 2, depending on your trim, combining cruise and lane centering for reduced workload highway driving.

Any collision affecting the windshield or front fascia requires recalibration matched to your Hyundai’s actual SmartSense configuration, not a one-size-fits-all reset.

HYUNDAI CERTIFIED REPAIR QUESTIONS

You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.

What Hyundai models does Heritage Collision service?

Tucson, Santa Fe, Elantra, Sonata, Palisade, Ioniq 5, and Ioniq 6.

Does certified repair cost more?

Certified repair uses genuine parts and manufacturer procedures that protect your safety, warranty, and resale value.

Heritage Collision will coordinate with your insurance to minimize your out-of-pocket cost, if any. Check your insurance policy for details.

What is Advanced High-Strength Steel and why does it matter for my repair?

AHSS is used in targeted structural zones to precisely manage crash energy. Incorrect cutting or welding location can compromise that engineered crash path. A Heritage Collision Certified repair follows Hyundai’s exact sectioning procedure.

Can Heritage Collision repair my Hyundai Ioniq 5 or Ioniq 6?

Yes. Heritage Collision technicians are trained on high-voltage safety protocols required for structural repair near the battery enclosure on Hyundai’s EV lineup.

Does Michigan’s winter weather affect my Hyundai’s repaired panels?

It can, if corrosion protection isn’t applied correctly at the repair seam. Road salt and freeze-thaw cycling accelerate rust-through on improperly protected steel.

At Heritage Collision, we apply Hyundai-specified corrosion protection as standard procedure.

Will my Hyundai SmartSense features work correctly after a collision repair?

Only with proper recalibration of the camera and radar to Hyundai’s exact specifications. A required step in every qualifying repair at Heritage Collision, not an upsell.

Do I have to use the shop my insurance company recommends for my Hyundai?

No. Michigan law lets you choose your own repair facility. Heritage Collision will handle insurance communication directly regardless of the carrier.
